Commission settings
Four numbers that define your affiliate program.
All four live in Admin → Settings → Referrals.
| Setting | Default | Range |
|---|---|---|
| Commission rate | 20% | 0 to 100 |
| Cookie lifetime | 30 days | 1 to 365 |
| Minimum payout | 50 | 0 or more |
| Auto-approve after | 30 days | 0 or more |
Commission rate#
The percentage of the order total credited to the referrer. Applied when the earning is created, so changing the rate never rewrites earnings already recorded.
Cookie lifetime#
How long a click stays attributed. Longer windows credit referrers more generously and cost you more per sale; 30 days is the common default across affiliate programs.
Minimum payout#
The balance a referrer must reach before you owe them a payment. It exists so you are not sending four-dollar transfers and paying more in fees than the payout is worth.
Auto-approve after#
Days after which a pending earning is approved automatically. It should comfortably exceed your refund window, so you are never approving a commission on a sale that gets refunded a week later.
Setting it to 0 disables auto-approval and every earning waits for you. Auto-approval runs on the scheduler, so it needs cron to be set up.
Choosing a rate#
For software sold once, 20–30% is normal. For recurring plans, decide explicitly whether you are paying on the first payment or on every renewal — the panel credits each qualifying order, so a referred customer on a monthly plan generates a commission every month unless you intend otherwise.
