Domain, support, and update limits

Three numbers per plan that decide what a customer can actually do.

1 min read

Each plan carries three limits. They are copied onto a subscription when it is created, so changing a plan later never retroactively restricts an existing customer.

Domain limit#

How many domains one license key may be activated on at once.

  • A positive number caps activations at that count.
  • Zero means unlimited.

The limit is enforced when your software calls the license API and when a customer adds a domain by hand in their panel. Deactivating a domain frees its slot immediately.

Domains are normalised before comparison, so example.com, www.example.com, and https://example.com/path all resolve to one entry rather than eating three slots.

Support days#

How long support is included from the purchase date. This is informational — the panel records and displays it, and does not block anything when it lapses. Use it to decide how to answer a ticket.

Update days#

The one that actually gates behaviour. It sets the subscription’s update expiry, and after that date the customer keeps everything they have but can no longer download newer releases.

Renewals push the expiry forward. A lapsed customer who renews regains access to everything released in the meantime.

Read Download gating for the exact rules.
